Andrew & Co LLP announces new appointments 21st April 2012

Julia Lock, Andrew & Co LLPEast Midlands law firm, Andrew & Co LLP, recently appointed three new fee earners and one relocation to strengthen both its residential and commercial property divisions. Julia Lock has joined as an Associate and heads up the commercial property team at the firm’s Newark office.

Strengthening the conveyancing division at Andrew & Co’s Lincoln office are newcomers Heather Bolden and Joanne Sworder. In another separate move, conveyancing paralegal Anita Hamer has been promoted to conveyancing executive and relocated from the solicitors’ Lincoln practice to its Newark one.

Managing partner Julie Bailey said: “To prepare for the retirement last month of long-time partner David Hollingworth, we knew we had to restructure as well as recruit some fairly heavyweight property experts to fill the void left by not only his departure but also Anita’s relocation. We are therefore delighted to be joined by newcomers Julia, Jo and Heather and together with Anita, we now have a dynamic, experienced team eager to develop and manage both existing and new clients.”

Before joining Andrew & Co LLP, Julia Lock worked at Goole firm Heptonstalls where she acted for a wide range of clients drafting and negotiating contracts, option and planning agreements, leases, business acquisitions and disposals and even multi-party renewable energy schemes. Since her appointment, she has been busy bringing clients up to speed with legislation changes like those in capital allowances.

Joining Julia at the Newark practice is Anita Hamer who has been with Andrew & Co since 2010. She recently took her finals to become a licensed conveyancer and was very excited by the prospect of relocating to the firm’s Notts office and assuming responsibility for its residential conveyancing work as well as developing her existing client relationships.

Replacing Anita in the Lincoln office is experienced conveyancing paralegal, Heather Bolden. She is a lively, self-starter and welcome addition to the team and will manage her full-time conveyancing work alongside an online eco-parenting business, Screaming Green, she established five years ago.

The final new face to join Andrew & Co and to lead its Lincoln conveyancing team is Joanne Sworder. She joined on 12 March from Taylor Rose in Peterborough where she headed up its residential property department.
